Read before your next round of Kalah Mancala
Take a moment with Kalah Mancala before moving to another game. When either row of six pits is empty, remaining seeds go to their owner’s store. The larger store wins. Use the example below to understand a decision. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Look at what changes after your first action.
Take a closer look while playing
Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Keep the objective visible.
The challenge in front of you
When either row of six pits is empty, remaining seeds go to their owner’s store. The larger store wins. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. The example below illustrates a decision.
A walkthrough of the rules
- Player 1 uses the bottom six pits; Player 2 uses the top six.
- Choose a non-empty pit on your side and sow its seeds one at a time.
- Include your own store but skip the opponent’s store. Ending in your store grants another turn.
- Ending in an empty pit on your own side captures that seed and the opposite seeds, when the opposite pit is non-empty.
Input guidance
Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Look at the feedback after the action.
Follow the example
If your last seed reaches your store, you move again. If your row becomes empty, both stores are settled immediately. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Check the stated objective.
A useful caution
The stores are scoring areas, not pits you can choose. These are Kalah rules, not every Mancala variant. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
