Learn the rules of Bubble Shooter

Bring your attention to one round of Bubble Shooter. Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Look at what changes after your first action. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Original hexagonal matching board and bouncing projectiles.

Try a more deliberate round

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Use the example to check your reasoning.

What the game asks you to do

Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. The example below illustrates a decision.

Making your moves

  1. Aim and fire.
  2. Attach bubbles to the cluster.
  3. Groups of three or more equal colours disappear.
  4. Floating groups drop; five misses lower the ceiling.

Making selections and moves

Pointer/touch aim, angle controls and Fire. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Look at the feedback after the action.

A useful example

Removing one support can drop a larger mixed-colour group below it. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Choose a deliberate next step.

Pay attention to this rule

Contact with a different colour is not a match. Check the rule before repeating the action. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
