Making your first moves in Mini Golf

Read the aim of Mini Golf, then make your first move. Sink all three holes within twelve strokes per hole. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Begin with the solo mode shown on the page. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Three original obstacle courses; wall bounces and friction.

A small practice goal

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Refer to the controls when needed.

Aim for this result

Sink all three holes within twelve strokes per hole. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

The order of play

  1. Aim a stopped ball.
  2. Set power and putt.
  3. Wait until it stops before another shot.
  4. Use Next hole after sinking.

Choosing and moving on screen

Touch aim, angle/power sliders and Putt. Use the control method described here for this activity. Look at the feedback after the action.

A useful example

A soft final putt can sink where a fast crossing would not. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Notice the change in the playing area.

An important reminder

The hole accepts only a sufficiently slow ball. Compare the situation with the worked example. Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow.
